About TralTral is a beautiful town which is well known for its natural beauty. Tral comes under Pulwama district. This district is renowned for the archeological monuments of Raja Avantivarman. There are approximately 82 villages which come under Tral tehsil. The houses built here are made from sun dried bricks and some baked bricks. Tral is famous for enormous number of natural assets such as waterfalls, streams, fruits, aromatic flowers and springs. History of TralTehsil Tral is located to the southern part of Kashmir. Around five hundred years ago Tral was previously named as “Trealal”. In Kashmiri language this name denotes three diamonds. The story behind this is goes as, there was a person named Hazrat Ameer Kabeer who was from Iran Khatlon Province who came in Kashmir with other 70 fellows to broaden teachings of Islam here. He peacefully and successfully established Islam in Kashmir. So this person Hazrat Ameer Kabeer had purchased this whole town of Tral with the exchange of three diamonds.
Economy of TralThe main livelihood here in this town is Agriculture. More than 50% of civilians are engaged in this occupation and rest are occupied in various other professions in which fruit cultivation is another major part of occupation. Hence agriculture gives major contribution in the income which is then followed by fruit cultivation.
Geography of TralTral is the small valley of Kashmir in which this town is sited. This town is enclosed by snow peak mountains. This town is approximately 10 km away from National Highway. The average area covered by this town is 100 km2. Tral is placed at 33.93 degree north 75.1degree east. It has around1662 meters of altitude. There are also some natural derived springs which have the quality to be warm in winters and be cool in summers.
Cuisine of TralThis mainly include dum aloo where the boiled potatoes are fried and stuffed with heavy spices and also rogan josh here the lamb is cooked in heavy spices. Wazwan is a traditional feast where the vegetables or mutton is cooked in several unusual ways, but here generally mutton is more preferred.
In the valley majority of the people don’t prefer to drink alcohol instead they all love drinking tea. Tea prepared here in two different ways noon chai or salt tea it has a pink color and this is the regular tea and other one is called Kahwah this tea is prepared from some spices and saffron this tea is made occasionally or in festive season.
